By effectively removing illegal guns from our streets, Project Exile, which was sponsored by CGR in concert with federal, state and local law enforcement, has been a primary catalyst for a safer region. In addition, CGR has influenced the election of strong candidates who have a vision of regional cooperation and growth. Other highlights include:

Project Exile

The state government moved from Williamsburg to Richmond in 1780. Until completion of permanent facilities, the General Assembly met in the clumsily constructed William Cuninghame Building at the corner of Pearl (now 14th) and Cary Streets.
